Zespol Szkol przy ul. GRUNWALDZKIEJ 9 in Łowicz, Poland

The school is in a small city in central Poland between the capital city Warsaw and Łódź. The city has its long history (almost 700 years old).

The school is also quite old because it was founded in 1963 so now we have got over 50 years of history. The patron Saint of our school is a great Pole Pope John Paul II and his ideology and way of thinking is a very strong foundation present at our small society.

Our school consists of a primary school and a lower secondary school. We have got about 450 pupils and about 40 teachers. Our school is on the outskirts of the city and our students are from different families with different social backgrounds. They are also from poor families with not many possibilities to see the outside world, but they are really eager to grow their confidence and develop their language competence. In our school we have got a drama club, physics club and various sports clubs including: volleyball club and basketball club. Our pupils also participate in various extracurricular activities, such as: dance, theatre, sport clubs, and charity organizations. Our students have also many sport activities like football, volleyball, tennis, swimming and skating in winter. Our school has got excellent facilities like two gyms, one football pitch with a tennis court, and basketball court, a playground for small children, two libraries, two IT classrooms, a day room, interactive whiteboards and a canteen. Our pupils learn English and German but they would like to practice the languages in real life situations. Our students can play the piano, the guitar, the keyboard and sing Polish traditional and popular international songs. They are talented on different fields and subjects.

There is equipment for multimedia presentations in most classrooms. Medical services and psychologist consultations are available on the daily basis.

The sheer advantage can be found in the experienced and creative staff. The Erasmus+ team will consist of teachers and pedagogical staff experienced in English language teaching, Literature, History, Art and Design, Music, Multimedia and ICT, Science and PE.

Our school goals are similar to the goals of PLAY, BE FREE project. Through international cooperation with our partners from the Czech Republic, Bulgaria and Italy we will develop in many fields. Our teachers are highly motivated. We would like more teachers and communities to know about the good practices through Erasmus. We are fully convinced that the goals of the project are the perfect way to develop our pupils ́ competence and build new knowledge of the world and the people. Our students, teachers and parents fully support us and they are ready to give us a hand when in need.

Finally, our school management totally supports us as they are convinced of the value and new qualities it gives not only to the children but also to the teachers.

The main objectives of the school are education through digital and IT tools, development of the students’ communication and personal skills through participation at school in national and international projects.

Our school's motto is John Paul II's words: “You must demand from yourselves even more than the ones demands from you".
